The European Future Skills Institute (EFSI) stands at the forefront of transforming the education landscape across Europe. With a keen focus on skills intelligence, the EFSI is dedicated to identifying and adapting to the ever-evolving needs of the job market. This proactive approach ensures that both individuals and organisations are well-equipped to meet the challenges of a dynamic economic environment.
In addition to its pioneering work in skills intelligence, the EFSI is equally committed to the recognition of skills. Recognizing that skills and competencies are as diverse as the individuals who possess them, EFSI provides a robust platform for the validation and acknowledgement of both formal and informal skills. This initiative empowers professionals from various backgrounds and industries to have their expertise officially recognized, thereby enhancing their career prospects and mobility within the European Union. The European Future Skills Institute’s dedication to skills recognition not only uplifts individual careers but also contributes significantly to the collective growth and competitiveness of the European workforce.
The European Future Skills Institute is a spin-off of the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU). ACEEU was founded in 2016 and is dedicated to the promotion, evaluation and celebration of entrepreneurship and engagement excellence in higher education. ACEEU accredits universities and academic units as Entrepreneurial Universities and Engaged Universities and has conducted more than 50 EU projects since 2020 alone.
Skills development has been integral to the work at ACEEU and has become increasingly important in EU projects in recent years. With a wealth of experience in higher education and areas like entrepreneurship, we launched the European Future Skills Institute to broaden our impact and apply our knowledge on skills more broadly.
Looking towards the future, the European Future Skills Institute envisions becoming a central hub for skills intelligence and recognition in Europe, driving innovation in education and workforce training. EFSI’s ambition is to contribute to creating a highly adaptive and responsive skills ecosystem, seamlessly aligning with the rapid technological advancements and evolving industry demands. By fostering partnerships with educational institutions, industry leaders, and policymakers, EFSI aims to set new standards in skills development, making lifelong learning accessible and relevant for all. This forward-thinking approach is designed not only to empower individuals in their career journeys but also to ensure that Europe remains at the cutting edge of global competitiveness and workforce excellence.
